PECULIARITIES OF ADAPTATION OF FORCED MIGRANTS IN DIFFERENT SOCIOCULTURAL CONTEXTS

The article discusses the problem of adaptation of forced migrants from Ukraine who suffered as a result of a full-scale war, using the example of a psychological program tested in Brisbane, Australia. Forced migration is accompanied by deep emotional turmoil, loss of habitual social ties, disruption of psychological well-being and difficulties in social integration. (According to the initial results, it was determined that the greatest difficulties experienced by forced migrants are in the emotional sphere, and social dissatisfaction is also highly pronounced, as the main problem for forced migrants is a sense of their own incapacity and helplessness, problems with self-realization, and difficulties arising from trying to build relationships with the new social environment due to language barriers). Special attention is needed for women, who often find themselves in the role of family support while still experiencing their own traumas. The purpose of this article is to analyze the effectiveness of a psychological support program that included three stages: stabilization, mobilization (trauma integration), and recovery. The participants of the study were 28 women aged 18 to 67. The study was conducted using several psychodiagnostic techniques, which allowed us to identify key difficulties – deterioration of the emotional state, high levels of anxiety, social frustration, feelings of loneliness, and communication difficulties. The results of the program revealed positive dynamics in self-perception, emotional state, and social inclusion. The relevance of the study is due to the need to create holistic models of psychological support for forced migrants that can be adapted to different cultural contexts. The results confirm the effectiveness of an integrated approach to trauma and social and psychological adaptation.
